Necessary Car Maintenance Routine to Keep Your Ride Going

Like almost everything else, vehicles do have limited working lives. After, say, ten years or more, they can become pretty much worn out and overworked. But when properly cared for, you can drive your ride for several decades without inconvenient troubles. So, make sure that you never fail to perform the following routine maintenance:

1. Oil change – Metal friction can result to a build up of extreme heat in your engine, causing it to wear faster. Engine oils help avoid this by lubricating metal parts and lessening the friction. For the lubrication to be effective though, it needs to be changed at least 3,000 miles of drive, or whatever the manufacturer recommends. This is because used oils eventually lose their lubricating properties due to continued burning and oxidation.

2. Air filter cleaning or replacement – Your engine needs to breathe for it to run. The filter helps it take in air efficiently by ensuring that what it is 'breathing in' is free of contaminants. After several months or years of running on the road, though, the filtering device can get clogged with all the dirt, making it harder for the engine to respire. As a result, it will use up more fuel than necessary to get the wheels moving. Thus, changing the air filter regularly is a must in order to protect the engine and save money on gas.

3. Tyre rotation – Rubbers can be quite expensive, and you would not want to replace them more than what is necessary. So, after every 5,000 miles of driving, rotate them to keep their treads from wear and tear as well as to prolong their working life. And, if possible, have this routine done in a repair facility so that the technician can help you identify and correct any alignment issues.

4. Fluid replacement – The antifreeze, transmission, power steering, and brake fluids should be changed regularly, too. This is because their effectiveness wears off over time. Keeping a fresh supply of these agents will help keep the important parts of your vehicle in good condition at all times.

Doing regular maintenance is important to keep your car running efficiently. The same goes for other properties you have, be they commercial, industrial, or residential. As for the needs of the latter part of the group, enlist the services of Introcross Cleaning now!
