Delegating Cleaning Tasks to Your Children

Are you tired of doing all the household cleaning all by yourself? Ask somebody from your shelter to help you out. Think again, you have your own children at home. Why not delegate them some tasks? Are you confused on what assignments you could give to them? Here are some tips that you must consider when you give them.

  • When you assign your kid to the bathroom, he might think he's punished. It is necessary that you will show to them that you are willing to help them out with heavy cleaning assignments. In here, you may ask them to throw the contents in the trash bin or wipe the bowl and the tiles. Do not ask them to brush the toilet. Remember, they are children, not slaves.
  • Start a cleaning contest. This will highly motivate them in their own designated work. Group them into according to the areas they will be working and then announce for a prize that will be given to the cleanest workers. Although you are doing this, be sure that you will always give consolation prizes to the non winners. In this way, you will not be discouraging then rather, inspiring them to do more.
  • Never ever nag. The mere hearing of parents' voices will irritate them while they are busy with the chores. It is most preferable that you will list all the tasks for the day and post it in a place where they will always see it.
  • Use your home entertainment system to lighten up the mood. Ask the kids their favourite music and then play it all over again during the day.
  • Chores should be done in a short time. This is because they tend to get bored faster than adults. So a 10 minute task may do. Ask them to rest after that and when they feel like doing another work again, you may assign another work he could work in.
  • Delegate the chores in the garage and the carpets to the teens. These require sturdier bodies to complete, so just do not mind their murmurs regarding this. Compliment their job after or treat them with a great meal.

With these tips, you will certainly move your children to groom up the mess without straining yourself in asking them to do each task. The trick here is for you to know how they think and with that competently responding to those thoughts.
